Yoga is sometimes obscurantism. Chakras, prana, energy channels of nadis - science does not recognize all this. Yoga is a system that emerged millennia ago, based on outdated or religious postulates. Trying to practice yoga in the 21st century in the same form that it was practiced before our era - that just smacks of obscurantism.

It is possible and necessary to practice yoga, but without forgetting that we are not ancient Hindus. There is no prana, there is oxygen. Sushumna is the spinal cord, and modern scientists know much more about it than the ancient authors of yogic practices. Mantras are prayers and incantations that have no meaning for people who do not speak Sanskrit. It does not matter what to say during meditation "Om Namah Shivaya" or "Vermishe-e-fir with a cauldron-e-etoy". And the rules of life Yama and Niyama are a standardized and primitized list of "commandments" that are cramped and controversial for an adult, intellectually and culturally developed person.

Therefore, I agree with Alexander Kovalev - to perceive yoga as a set of exercises for a healthy lifestyle life is guile. And if you remove the religious and philosophical components, then exercise therapy, hygiene procedures and a diet remain. Much of this has long been used in European culture (brushing teeth, bathing, gymnastics), much causes skepticism among scientists (eating Ayurveda, cleansing the stomach with bandages or through vomiting), something you can borrow and adapt for yourself (meditation, pranayama) .

But yoga for the European of the XXI century is gymnastics, hygiene of mind and body, responsibility for one's actions and proper nutrition. All this is necessary and correct, but in many respects it is exaggerated and promoted. (I speak like a person who has seriously practiced yoga for 10 years)

No matter how much one would like to perceive yoga simply as a sport, and meditation as psychological training - but, IMHO, it will not work. Having reached a certain level in yoga, you still have to continue to take the literature, which is considered sacred in the Vedic religions, and follow it, one might say - live by it. Therefore, it cannot be said that yoga "is suitable for representatives of any religion" - having gone beyond hatha yoga, we will already come across recommendations that regulate everything in the world, from everyday life to the so-called spiritual life. Yoga is inseparable from the rest of the Vedic, so yes - obscurantism.

VEGETARIANISM - IS IT A SIN?

This question is asked by some parishioners concerned about the spread of this foreign infection in Russia.

Let's start with the fact that the greatest moral authority of mankind, Jesus Christ, he ate meat with pleasure; the apostles, holy ascetics and even the Most Holy Theotokos ate it. Therefore, it is not appropriate for an Orthodox person to refuse this tasty and nutritious product. On the contrary, the most famous apologists of vegetarianism were such people as Hitler, Chikatilo, Cain, Pol Pot and the like. This is information worth thinking about.

What does the Bible tell us about all this? The story of two brothers, the sons of Adam and Eve. This story sheds light on the origins of vegetarianism. Everyone knows that Cain killed Abel, but not everyone knows the reason for the murder.

" And Abel was a shepherd of sheep, and Cain was a farmer.

After some time, Cain brought from the fruits of the earth a gift to the Lord,

and Abel also brought from the firstborn his flock and from their fatness. And the Lord looked upon Abel and his gift,

But he did not look upon Cain and his gift. "(Genesis 4: 2-5) The Lord God turned away from the plant foods laid on the altar by the vegetarian Cain This was the reason for the conflict, after which the vegetarian brother killed the brother. So, the first killer in history was a vegetarian Rian. Cain, as you know, was cursed by God and sent into exile. Over time, he grew supporters and preached vegetarianism to all of them. It is noteworthy that vegetarians have the strictest prohibitions on eating meat of animals, birds and all other living creatures laid by the Lord in food to a person - but there is no prohibition on eating meat ... people. Now the secret meaning of this unnatural abstinence from meat becomes clear: it is easier and easier for a person exhausted by the lack of protein food to switch to cannibalism, which is the backstage side of vegetarianism. Vegetarianism is a totalitarian sect that has put the goal is to worship Satan by a total perversion of God's commandment to eat, because what God has commanded is rejected by them as bad; and what is truly filthy before people and before God, they proclaim clean and good for food.

Attention: please distribute this text so that people know the truth about vegetarianism. The truth is our main weapon against conspiracy of silence. God bless you!

Obscurantism is to give the opinion of other people increased attention, instead of doing what the soul is really into. Unless, of course, this does not fall under the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.

I don't know about yoga, but meditation is a cool thing. It has a very positive effect on the mental and physical (and they are closely related) state of the body.
