there may be insufficient quality lighting and at the same time the light is very bright, we have softer lamps at home, eyes do not get tired with them, and they do not react to light so much

Pain in the eyes occurs only when leaving the darkness into the light. In order to see well, for example, in a semi-dark entrance, the human pupil expands greatly, letting the maximum amount of light rays pass onto the retina (for this, nocturnal animals have such large pupils). When you step into bright light, the pupil is still dilated and the eye receives too much light. The retinal optic nerves, having received such an "overdose", form powerful nerve impulses, creating a sensation of pain in the eye and causing reflexive contraction of the pupil.

When you look at a bright object, your pupil narrows to avoid glare. The muscles in your eye reflexively contract very quickly, thus shrinking the pupil, which causes pain.
