I have read many books without a hint of sleep. Except for Pikul. He never mastered a single one, well, he cuts down brutally. It's amazing, because his books are really interesting.

Because this someone has read a book that is interesting to him personally. And you - accordingly not.

Find an interesting book, and it will not bore you. Well, take a rest. And then suddenly you are sleepy due to lack of sleep.

Well, once you fall asleep after a couple of pages, then read in bed, but only before bed. I started with Andrey Belyanin, with the series "The Sword Without a Name" and "The Secret Investigation of the Tsar Pea". A humorous fantasy that reads very easily thanks to the author's very cool writing style. Moreover, these series, of 3 and 9 books, there is a lot of material, but the characters in the series are the same, so reading is perceived as a series. Of course, not a whole book in a day, but I managed to read them in 2 weeks! This is about 2 thousand pages ... At first I went nuts, but when I tried to sleep the next day, I realized that I could not sleep without a book and my sleep was gone. That is, as if he closed his eyes and after a while just opened them, although after reading there was such a night movement that it was so awesome!))) Now the reading speed has developed so much that I read up to 1000 pages for 3-5 days ...

In general, try reading before bed.

I remember that once at a foreign university, mentors shared with us all kinds of educational life hacks. One of them was about effective reading. Perhaps you have not thought about it, but we fall asleep not only when there is no motivation to read this or that book (although this is also one of the decisive factors), the place for reading also matters. So if you are comfortable in the bed / couch where you usually sleep, the risk of falling asleep after a couple of pages is much greater. Simply because psychologically, your brain associates this place with a place to sleep, and not for other activities. As a solution to this problem, you can select one place in your home and read exclusively in it, so that your brain clearly understands that you are here to read. In other words, develop a conditioned reading reflex 😉

I believe that there are 2 interrelated factors here:

1) Motivation and interest in reading this book. Everything is clear here without explanation;

2) The temperament of the reader. Personally, I am a very energetic person and it is very boring for me to sit still. In this regard, my body, accustomed to constant activity while doing monotonous things, lying or sitting, does not come up with anything more interesting than falling asleep. And vice versa: introverts, people who are accustomed to experiencing most of the emotions in themselves, are more inclined to calm affairs.

Try to answer this question yourself. I will give you some of the factors that affect this. The reader's interest in the book, his physical and psychological state at the moment (vigorous, full, thirsty, hungry)
