I grew up surrounded by very strong women. My wife has great willpower. I have great respect for women.

I really like the idea of ​​belonging to such an important part of a woman's life as her reproductive health and sexuality. A woman's body represents femininity and I am involved in her identity, which is a great honor.

As a future gynecologist, I answer: interest. The female body is a unique creation of nature) And, as you say, there are "unpleasant" moments in any specialty (except perhaps for an immunologist and other very narrow specializations). And so take fecal peritonitis (the outpouring of feces into the abdominal cavity), which is operated by surgeons. Or gangrene of the extremities, a diabetic foot ... Just imagine the smell in the operating room!) Or those affected by fungi and simply not very clean legs of grandparents, which sometimes therapists and neurologists touch without gloves. Or a drunken unconscious body, whose mouth cavity is in vomit, and the resuscitator needs to intubate it (insert a tube into the throat to breathe). Or imagine working in a ward with tuberculosis patients freely releasing bacteria into the environment. So the nuisance of working as a venereologist, gynecologist and so on - abstract representations of people far from real medicine) there are things that are even more terrible than other people's genitals, to which medical students from junior courses develop an indifferent attitude. I hope I got the point across)

The work of a doctor is not at all pleasant. Sick people smell bad, blood, sweat, urine and other pus flow from them. At the same time, you need to touch them with your hands and, God forbid, even stick your fingers in the most inappropriate places for this. And for a pittance. And around the clock when on duty. Moreover, for this we had to go through the most severe selection and memorize the floor of the Public Library, cutting corpses during a break.

But some get high, saving lives, and others also helping to be born.

In general, a gynecologist is a fairly normal medical specialty, no more disgusting than everyone else. As for me, some dermatologist-venereologist, traumatologist or resuscitation specialist will have more disgusting things at work.

What do students generally think about when entering the medical faculty? About exhausting cramming, sleepless nights on duty, digging in all sorts of not appetizing places that smell of blood, pus, sweat and shit?
