The psychiatrist first diagnoses. Most do not know that social anxiety disorder (social phobia)

is a mental disorder that has the corresponding code in the ICD-10.

Treatment is carried out:

-1 - psychopharmacotherapy. If there are no comorbid disorders, then these are usually SSRI antidepressants, they are highly effective according to the principles of evidence-based medicine;

-2- cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy;

Combination of these methods is often required.

Psychiatrists resort to one single method: they send the patient to a psychologist.
And this is quite understandable: social phobia is not a psychiatric problem.
Oh, a tranquilizer can muffle the feeling of fear, this is not a sideways treatment for social phobia.

Guys, you don't want to understand, then at least remember already.
A psychiatrist is a pill and a straitjacket ( that is, organic brain damage that can be treated with medication. Well, or not, if you're not lucky ).
If we talk, this is a psychologist.
And these two specializations intersect very, very rarely.
So a psychiatrist will not treat you with magic dialogues, and a psychologist will not write you prescriptions for interesting substances :)
