All of the above is true. I just wanted to add that drugs are extreme. And teenagers love extreme, or, in extreme cases, show off something extreme. Drugs in this regard are the most convenient thing - it is almost impossible to refute such boasting due to the secrecy and closeness from the general public (for example, it is unrealistic to check the info from a huckster who allegedly sells something to your classmate, as this will reveal that he is a huckster). In addition, danger, even feigned, gives self-confidence (no). And girls supposedly love bad boys (more often than not).

P.S. guys, better wakeboarding, dancing or a banal bike.

Because they want to look older and cooler. Due to the fact that normal education on the topic in our country is not only absent, but also equated to propaganda, adolescents often present themselves in an absurd light. I came across guys on Twitter who wrote about how difficult it is for them to "clean up" and how it is impossible to perceive this world without being stoned, and then it turned out that they call drugs ... marijuana.

For for many of them, being "jerk" is synonymous with coolness, involvement in a certain "bohemian" way of life. For some, this is a protest not to be "correct" and "nerd".

The beauty is that people who do use drugs usually don't talk about it in open (and closed) ) social media profiles.

Drugs, due to their high cost and complexity of "getting", have always been something forbidden in our latitudes, but alluring and attractive, and after the Iron Curtain fell and we saw Hollywood stars leveling the cocaine path with a platinum Visa and sniffing it with a folded hundred-dollar bill, drugs have become a symbol of a beautiful, rich, fashionable and riotous life. It's no wonder that our children have always wanted this kind of life (or at least imitating it "like idols"), but not everyone has the courage to try, because the attitude from school and from mom that "drugs are bad and dangerous , you can die "works quite hard on most children. And I want to cling to the higher, "tough", "senior" guys in the hierarchy who have tried it and for this they are considered as such! Here is a naive child and goes to open lies, thinking that he will be able to exalt himself in the eyes of his "homies" and, as it were, be ahead. Evolution and striving up the hierarchy cannot be smeared with a finger. Naturally, the majority are scorched by some elementary inconsistencies with reality ("smoking cocaine", for example), or sooner or later they take on "weak" when they face drugs face to face, after which they slide even below even the rank in which have already been.
