The fundamental difference between a day cream and a night cream is that sunscreen elements (SPF) are added to the day cream. And they work when we go outside - they protect the skin from photoaging, adapt it to the external environment. Special ingredients moisturize and nourish the skin, and some also create a light mattifying effect.
The night cream is denser texture and rich in nutrients for regeneration, hydration and recovery from environmental exposure.
Composition. By appointment. Texture. Functions. In short.
The day cream is applied in the morning, as its purpose is to protect and moisturize the skin throughout the day. Day creams contain moisturizing agents (for example, hyaluronic acid, urea, aloe vera gel, etc.), UV filters to protect the skin from sun rays (indicated on the package - SPF), skin softeners (due to which the makeup lays down evenly). In addition, vitamins, peptides, plant extracts and oils are included, the action of which is aimed at eliminating a specific problem. For example, acne, rosacea, pigmentation, wrinkles and others. Day creams are lightweight, non-greasy and absorb quickly.
The night cream is applied in the evening before going to bed, so that during rest the skin receives the necessary nutrients for its proper metabolism. Nourishing creams have a denser structure, contain more oils and vitamins, therefore they are more fatty and take longer to be absorbed.
Of course, you can use the creams as you please, but then there will be no point in this.
P.S. I'm not talking about a cheap mass market, where these products will be identical, but with different packaging. And about the means of at least middle and middle + classes.
