In a very short and simplified way, the principle is as follows: all body processes (ie somatic) are regulated by the subconscious. If, for any reason, a failure occurs in the part of the subconscious that is responsible for a certain organ / process, then it begins to give the wrong commands to the body (release too much / little hormones, block the absorption of a substance, etc.). As a result, the normal course of the process is disrupted and the body begins to ache.
The task of psychosomatics as a direction of psychology is to find a failure and eliminate it. From my own experience (I'm a psychologist) I can say that this is absolutely real.
At the same time, official medicine is reluctant to recognize psychosomatics (many experts do not recognize it at all). It seems that this is due to the fact that they begin to analyze the problem with the symptom that has already arisen (for example, you do not produce insulin, so this and that happens). At the same time, the question of the cause of the symptom is not raised (and why, in fact, insulin stopped being produced?)
You must live with psychosomatics just like with any other problem - or solve (in this case, treat with the help of a psychologist) , or take it for granted and not bother.
We all want to take place, to "happen" in this life, but for the majority, moreover, for the overwhelming majority, this does not happen. Various reasons are called: "the snout did not come out", "no luck", "the fool himself" or, on the contrary, "all around there are fools", but no one mentions the only fundamental reason. It is not easy to articulate.
Imagine a person in anger, fear, or joy. Any of our feelings, in the power of which we are, is, consider, exclusion from life. Is it possible to assume that a creature, for example, who is clattering his teeth with fear, is composing a poem at this moment or solving Thales's Theorem? the level of your emotional background. The stronger the emotional background, the less capable you are of serious projects.
Like a computer with a hundred programs turned on at once, you will "freeze" if your spiritual energy is spent on serving your vain feelings. As a rule, these are minor manias, phobias, addictions, which you do not pay attention to, considering that this is part of your nature, but in fact these are parasitic programs that suck your energy.
This is due to for them you lack the fuse to sit down, finally, for the book for which you have been collecting materials for so many years. It is because of them that you do not have the courage to make a remark to your neighbor, who has made a habit of smoking on the staircase in his underpants. It is because of them that you hesitate to approach the girl you like in order to invite her to a cup of coffee in a beautiful baritone voice.
Remember what classic losers look like? They are constantly subject to emotional changes that can occur in sync with the thoughts that come to mind. They talk to themselves and look sloppy, because the energy required for self-control is spent on numerous “eccentricities.”
spiders, then you should know: these are not peculiarities of your nature - these are parasites that, like worms in the intestines, have settled in your psyche to devour your life energy. And you will share your life with them if you don’t think about its meaning. Are you made to be a cash cow for your nightmares or daytime cravings? Psychosomatics is a term that is actively discussed by popular psychology. The latter offers a simple scheme, that a stressful event triggers a somatic symptom, i.e. a causal relationship is substantiated. More attentive psychologists will begin to notice it everywhere.
Because very often you can find a somatic symptom in a mental disorder.
This "psychosomatics" will be found even if someone gets sick with the flu. "You have a high temperature from psychosomatics, you don't want to go to work ..." - say psychologists.
There is no such concept in medicine. Conversion, hypochondriacal and even psychotic symptoms can be hidden under "psychosomatics."
What to do if you have violent somatic symptoms: discomfort in the body (hot flashes or heat, numbness, etc.), decreased weight, sleep disturbance - consult a doctor. If all this accompanies anxiety, a bad mood is a reason to heal your nerves with a doctor.
Psychosomatics as a phenomenon in medicine can be viewed from the point of view of psychogenic pathology. There are many options here: from hysterical reproduction of symptoms to a real disorder of the executive functions of the nervous system, which can lead to non-infectious diseases, and even to infectious ones due to immune breakdown.
In science, psychosomatics also means feedback : the reaction of the nervous system in general and the psyche in particular to purely somatic processes. As a neuropsychiatrist, I am interested in both "sides of the coin": vetpsy.ru
