What is ADHD you have already written above, I will answer the second part of the question:

first of all, to understand and realize that ADHD is a disorder, not a bad upbringing, a naughty child or parental neglect.

Here I wrote about the latest research on the causes: http://www.web-psy.ru/articles/chto-za-sdvg-vy-prosto-ploho-vospitali-rebyonka/#more -143

The most effective way to resolve the issue is to work with a neuropsychologist. I'm talking about children and teenagers now. Sensomotor and then cognitive correction. In a good scenario, you can do without medication at all, sometimes nootropics are prescribed to improve and accelerate the result. In any case, the sooner treatment is started, the less this disorder will interfere in later life.

Depending on the diagnostic criterion in the world, up to 25% of children with this diagnosis are attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Sometimes without the latter. Such children are not assiduous, they do not concentrate, they cannot hold attention even for a short time. They are disturbing and poorly trained. Such children have poor control over their emotions, they are hyperactive - they cannot sit still, start a business and immediately leave it, they cannot bring anything to the end. At school, they do not hear the question they are asked, they immediately forget what they were asked about, they cannot concentrate on the answer. ADHD needs to be treated, it is a medical condition that can only be treated with medication. I myself suffer from ADHD, but I'm not a doctor, I can only share my experience . For more information, see Why I'm Distracted by Edward Hallowell and John Raithy.

ADHD is more common in children, less often in adults. It is important to understand that such a diagnosis can only be made by a specialized specialist, and there is one "sadness" here - only a specialist who does not live in the Russian Federation and does not work here can make a diagnosis. Since half of our doctors do not consider this a disease, and absolutely all doctors in the Russian Federation do not have the drugs that are given to children with this diagnosis all over the world. Such drugs are prohibited in Russia, and we have others. But if we talk about drugs of the first choice, that is, more suitable, they do not exist in Russia. It turns out that there are no specialists who would work with these drugs, and to treat ADHD you need experience in drug treatment.

ADHD is treated with short-acting drugs, usually children are given the drug before school so that they can concentrate normally. after 5-6 hours the drug is excreted from the body and the child is very active again.

If your child behaves as I described above, I will tell you straight - show him patience and understanding, he is not to blame, he is not dissolute, his psyche is so structured that he behaves in this way. You should go to doctors in the near abroad, for example, to Germany or Israel, where this disease has been successfully treated for about 50 years. If the disease is not cured in childhood, most likely, it will manifest itself throughout life, 60% of untreated children get sick even in adulthood. I myself discovered this disease in myself as an adult, I treat it with medication and very successfully.

The main thing is to remember that in no case should you punish such children, shout at them, since this is a disease, and the essence of it in electrical activity in the cerebral cortex, which does not allow a person to keep his attention, makes him jump from thought to thought, from action to action. Of course, along with medications, there are methods for correcting behavior and raising such children, but first of all, it is treated with drugs.
