Musical preferences depend on the type of thinking
According to the BBC Russian service, a group of scientists has conducted a study of about 4,000 respondents. The aim of the study was to identify patterns between the type of human thinking and preferred music.
Each respondent was given 50 fragments from 26 different styles of music to listen to and asked to rate each piece on a 10-point scale. In addition, scientists have compiled a special survey to identify the type of human thinking.
The researchers made the following conclusions from the experiment:
People in whom emotions prevail over rational thinking prefer melodic music more. on the other hand, rationalists respect heavy metal.
I don't know, but I don't think that people who listen to rap are less intellectually developed. Although they will never realize it. They think they listen to music "with meaning", but more often than not, the meaning in those songs is pretty simple and on the surface. I also look at people listening to rap, and most of them are kind of very stupid and narrow-minded. Often in rap they bring up completely "low" topics. And classical music, high-quality electronic music (not trap and other hip-hops, but such performers as Space, Jean Michel Jarre, Daft Punk and others), rock music (with the exception of bad rock music) make you think for yourself: imagine pictures in your head, imagine meaning of music and so on. I know there are a lot of rappers here, but I don't care about their opinion, but they, I hope, mine.
Music preferences and Iq are not related in any way. Man is an amazing creature in terms of immersion and perception. He can perceive any work of art both superficially and with almost infinite detail. All the snobbery about the fact that, for example, electronic music is "stupid", but the classics are understandable only to people with a high Iq, nothing more than snobbery and prejudice. All styles have the most complex compositions, the only question is whether we can hear this complexity.
