To the above, it is worth adding that a significant part of medical equipment is equipped with quite ordinary personal computers (laboratory equipment, first of all) or has an integrated PC on board with a classic set of operating systems, incl. Windows though * NIX more often (Uzi, X-rays). Most of this equipment is integrated into the local network of the institution and in some cases has access to the Internet. So, direct equipment failure is also possible.

Modern hospitals in Russia are equipped with computer databases that store all information about the treatment of a particular patient, including doctor's prescriptions.

Thus, having gained access to this database, hackers , with the proper knowledge and skill, they can change the prescriptions to a particular patient by increasing or decreasing the dose of the drugs they take. This is especially true for therapy departments, where the volume of drugs taken is very large and, having glimpsed their prescriptions in the printed sheet, the doctor may not notice the wrong dosages. This can lead to serious consequences, including death.

In addition, information about studies is stored in the databases, thus, adjusting them accordingly, you can force the use of unnecessary treatment, or, conversely, cancel the necessary.

Even a simple removal of all information from these databases can lead to a small local collapse of the healthcare organization.

With all of the above, it is worth remembering that all this information is duplicated in print variant daily, gluing together in a regular, paper case history. Therefore, violations that will be caused by a hacker attack will most likely be quickly eliminated. In the end, automated systems break down on their own, and no significant problems were noticed in the functioning of hospitals.
