Expanding consciousness is comprehending the meaning of human existence, the secrets of the universe, opening the third eye or extrasensory abilities, the ability to see the future, levitation, telekinesis and other delusional-fantastic things that are impossible for humans. Scientists have not figured out why some are born geniuses while others live unremarkable lives.
There is no expansion of consciousness, and there cannot be. This expression is generally false in its essence, unscientific, the same stupidity and mystification, as, for example, horoscopes or programs on Ren-TV.
We can talk about the qualitative and quantitative improvement of mental abilities in a healthy lifestyle, as a result of the removal of toxins from the body (just accumulated by bad habits), elimination of the lack of vitamins and minerals in the body, etc. Simply put, you will think faster and better, maintain your ability to work and concentrate longer. Yes, but there is no smell of "expansion" here, nothing supernatural, banal physiology.
And what is this "extension" anyway? Very often they like to use this word in connection with the experience that people experience under hallucinogens. For a long time, scientists have debunked this myth and proved that all these consciousness-expanding experiences, banal glitches, inadequate perception of reality under psychotropics. There have already been such experiments more than once, when people under substances were asked to write down on paper all those ingenious ideas and revelations that came to their minds. Then, when they were released, they soberly assessed what was written and freaked out from its meaninglessness and inadequacy. But then it seemed to them that they had grasped the essence of being. There is no sacred essence of being, absolute truth and cosmic revelations. There are only the fantasies of your brain.
Religious revelation in its essence is no different from LSD, only you do not need to accept anything, auto-suggestion works. It's about the same with vegetarianism. It has a lot of religion, and, unfortunately, little of a balanced diet.
From my own experience I will say that, just like most other people, with a sharp transition to a new diet, the restructuring of the body gives some new sensations - slight euphoria, exacerbation of the senses - this is really the case. In the first month or two. Before you know it, you will start to feel the same again, or even worse, because most people are not able to correctly formulate a diet on vegetarianism (they are generally not able to make up any adequate diet, because you need to know biology, chemistry and the basics of dietetics), not to mention already about the fact that this is a load for your body, because it has adapted to your diet in the previous decades, and now everything is new and it is in afig. A strong load on the gastrointestinal tract is one of the main reasons why, after 1 year, I returned from vegetarianism to a regular diet "I eat everything from which nothing hurts in my body after".
As a result, there is no expansion of consciousness and there cannot be, and vegetarianism still should not be equated with a healthy lifestyle.
After refusal from heavy, meaty food comes a slight euphoria, with an aggravation of feelings and sensations. This is due to hunger. Then, if you continue the diet, delight and lightness are replaced by apathy, hunger, constant fatigue and sleep for 10 hours.
Tested on myself.
As a result of the transition to a healthy lifestyle and vegetarianism, the first thing I felt was an aggravation of the work of all senses. As a result, the world has become brighter, smelter, tastier, more pleasant. An ordinary carrot or parsley, for example, suddenly turned out to be insanely tasty, juicy and beautiful. The world around him became brighter and more cheerful, the dullness either disappeared altogether or faded into the background. There was a lot of energy and desire to live and get happiness from simple things. I think this is the expansion of consciousness.
Healthy lifestyle and vegetarianism, in their extreme forms, are akin to religion, and for any religion, explanations are important why it is better to be a believer than not to be a believer. "Expansion of consciousness" is just one of the explanations. There is no expansion, there is a certain hope to live a little longer and get sick a little less often, but even then my grandmother for three said that spinach, or spinach with a steak, is healthier for the body.
