Here's a way to get rid of it. Do ordinary things in an unusual way. For example, drink water while standing upside down on your hands, try writing your name with your foot, even read a book upside down. The brain begins to adapt to new conditions and the body is not up to hiccups!
Hiccups occur due to sharp impulse contractions of the diaphragm. Hiccups can be caused by many factors: hypothermia, overeating (or eating too quickly), fright, irritation of the phrenic and vagus nerves, intoxication (therefore alcoholics often hiccup) and many, many other factors that are less common.
I know one very effective way to get rid of hiccups. Hold your breath as much as you can and relax. If it does not work, repeat it several times. Then you can SLOWLY drink warm water. There was not a single time when this did not help me.
It is worth warning that if the hiccups do not go away for too long and you cannot get rid of it in any way, then this is a serious reason to consult a doctor.
Be healthy and do not hiccup!
