I'll tell you about my experience. I began to try meditation in order to reduce irritability and calm the nerves. I watched several articles, a video on YouTube and the only thing that I managed to understand was that meditation is complete relaxation and concentration on one thing at a given moment. It is often advised to concentrate on the breath. At this point, you should not think about anything. This is very difficult to do. And if you practice every day for at least 10-15 minutes, then it turns out better over time. I noticed that my nerves really calmed down a bit. I began to feel more harmonious. Therefore, it is difficult to understand from the picture from the film in what spiritual state the meditator is. As I understand it, the pose does not have to be classic.

Well, I have never practiced the religious and spiritual component of this action, for the reason that before it became mainstream, there really was no such component (it was, of course, but within the confessions).
In the movies, it is usually the Buddhist / Hindu type of meditation that is shown, so this is partially relevant for Hindus / Buddhists, but it's still a movie, that's why I wrote "partially"
Meditation is a combination of tensions of the mind and breathing. There is the concentration described above, dharana. There is deconcentration, these are techniques but not the essence. The films show the position of the body and only.
Everyone should have their own experience here. What is shown in the cinema cannot convey this state in any way. Whatever I say, everyone will imagine what he will present. It is rather closer to contemplation. For example, when a person is in nature, he sits on a mountain and sees some kind, if he does not include strong emotions, but simply contemplates, looks calmly, then this is probably the closest thing to meditation.
Meditation - this is a state in which a person has entered, and what I am doing can rather be called concentration, in order to arrive at a state that awakens by itself. Every person experiences this when he falls in love, when he sees something very beautiful or when he is disappointed in everything.
I have a practice that my teacher taught me, I do it every day as I was taught. This is one very simple exercise that you can always return to and that you can do in any conditions, regardless of whether you are sitting, standing, walking. The simplicity and convenience of the method is that it does not depend on any external aspects. In fact, you are concentrated from within, and then energy accumulates and understanding appears, which comes along with calmness. Of course, in moments when everything is difficult, for example, when there may be some conflicts with people, it really saves. All this helps to look at the situation from the outside, at oneself, and not do, perhaps in the heat of the moment, some stupid things, but stop in time, exhale and do the right thing.
I will not tell what kind of exercise it is. , because for everyone it is different. You need to go to the teacher and get practice. Even if I say, and you try, it will still not be entirely correct, because such things need to be received from the teacher. It is very important that this be a tradition. If someone takes a lot of money for spirituality, it means that he absolutely has nothing to do with spirituality. There are simple principles.
In fact, getting such things is much easier than it seems, there are just few people who are really looking for them. People are ready to pay huge sums of money for trainings or go to some fashionable psychologists, but at the same time they do not want to change themselves. They want to be told how, to be done for them. A real teacher doesn't do anything. He gives the method, and the person works on himself.
