There are studies that show that black and white dreams predominate in people who watched black and white films and television in childhood, and color dreams in those who had access to color TV. These differences appear even within the same age groups between people from families with color and black and white televisions (here is one article from the UK, another from China). The authors of the second study also mention the interesting fact that before the invention of cinema, people had dreams in color (this is confirmed by Aristotle, Descartes and Freud). It should be borne in mind that black and white images would be very unusual for a person who lived before the invention of lithography and photography (engravings are still not the same), so probably numerous philosophers of past centuries would be puzzled why the pictures in our dreams are so different from that that we see before our eyes every day.

Now more than 80% of the population claims to have colored dreams. Modern man hardly ever comes across black and white images - so why should they come to him in a dream? However, since the period of spread of black and white television coincided with the active development of psychology, scientists came to the conclusion that dreams are normally monochrome.

This opinion exists. I'll tell you by example: a woman I knew was being treated in the center of mentally unhealthy people and it was she who told me about what is being discussed in the places of the near (those, of course, who have not lost their speechlessness), are discussing exactly colored dreams Relatively recently, American experts from the University of San Antonio revealed to the world the following assumption: frequent dreams, accompanied by bright and colorful pictures, are mainly those people who either already suffer from various mental disorders, that is, schizophrenia and other mental disorders, or have tendency to manifestations of these deviations. They came to this conclusion after careful and lengthy dream research of several hundred volunteers. But do not forget that many theories have been refuted throughout the entire history of mankind. Good luck, Ani!
