No, of course, sleeping on the floor is not useful and inconvenient! Here's why:

  • Our spine is not straight, but has an S-shaped curve. In the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, the spine arches (this is necessary for stability and shock absorption when walking). The flat and firm floor is too hard for this back shape. As a result, you will, at best, feel back pain in the morning after sleeping on the floor, and at worst, harm your health.
  • It's cold to sleep on the floor! Even if you find a comfortable position, the risk of being blown away in your sleep increases significantly.

If you do not want to put the bed in the room, we recommend choosing a mattress on the floor. Models for permanent use have several important characteristics:

  1. They are heavy. For the mattress to "roll" on the floor, it must be pressed against the surface by its own weight.
  2. They are tall. The higher, the better: it is more convenient to get on and off the tall model.
  3. There should be elastic fillers inside that compensate for the floor's rigidity.

It is useful to sleep on a surface that is comfortable and provides quality rest. For example, for people with a lack of tissue, sleeping on a hard surface (floor) will be uncomfortable, since a person will practically sleep on the bony protrusions of his own body, which are not designed for such a load.
