January, 2021Lumineers are installed completely without turning. In this case, the tooth does not grind, the enamel is etched for good fixation of the glue between the tooth and the lumineer. The service life of lumineers is less than that of ceramic veneers; also, lumineers are very inferior to veneers in appearance. They look more like plastic than ceramics.

January, 2021Several questions need to be answered here. You will not be able to grind the tooth at all when installing veneers. The surface of the tooth must be adhesive and rough so that the onlay can hold well. Least of all the tooth is sharpened when installing especially thin veneers - lumineers. But lumineers are quite fragile, and can hide only small external defects of the teeth - for example, violations of the color of tooth enamel. You should not be afraid of turning your teeth, since only a very small part of the enamel is grinded, which is replaced by a veneer.
The gaps between the teeth, except for the most minimal ones, are not hidden by veneers. Trying to hide a large trime or diastema with a veneer - the gap between the incisors or lateral teeth - is poor-quality work. If you put a very thick plate on the tooth, the part of it that is above the gap, outside the tooth, will not have support, and food debris will constantly accumulate between the plate and the gum. This will ultimately lead to tooth decay. The gaps between the teeth are eliminated with braces or mouth guards, that is, the bite is corrected. And veneers are placed on teeth that are in place.

January, 2021Hello .
Veneers can be placed without turning if the position and shape of the teeth allow it. Only aesthetically, they will lose to veneers, which are installed on prepared teeth.
