good afternoon! yes, it can serve as a specific symptom of the disease. with persistent hiccups that does not go away for several hours, my advice to you is to contact or call an ambulance or to a therapist / gastroenterologist at the clinic. try cerucal or metoclopramide for hiccups. please consult your gastroenterologist in the future.

Hiccups are associated with spastic contractions of the muscles in the diaphragm and are not necessarily indicative of serious health problems. If the hiccups continue regularly and for a long time, accompanied by belching, heartburn and similar symptoms, it is better to consult a gastroenterologist.
