It is important to be prepared and in good shape. To do this, you should get enough sleep (if a really important performance, then try to get enough sleep within 2-3 days before it). There are many tips for preparing and dealing with nervousness during a talk. Both useful and not very useful. Here are the ones that seem sensible to me:

  • 10 recommendations from the famous Guy Kawasaki, ex-Apple evangelist and one of the most famous business speakers. In short: practice a lot, do not try to sell something, do not offend your competitors and do not speak out if there is at least one really interesting thought.

  • TED is a renowned public speaking platform for true maestros of rhetoric. Here's what TED curator Chris Anderson, former Wired editor-in-chief and author of the famous "long tail" theory, advises:
    give listeners a reason to empathize;
    build a story based on concepts known to your audience;
    put forward an idea you want to share

Well, it's important to remember what you DO NOT need to do. Check out 6 really bad tips for the nervous, and never do it.

Intense excitement is often based on:

  • internal confidence in the existence of high standards of conduct;

  • fear of a mistake, which is perceived not as a simple mistake, a blot, but as a social catastrophe ...

If you manage to lower the bar of expectations, then fear also decreases, as it grows on high self-expectations.

I don't care how I look; the whole focus of attention is on what I will give THEM, on THEIR benefit, on THEIR result from my report. Tell them about it: and that worry, and what is important - THEIR result.

So report)

People value when you are FOR THEM.

For this, a lot will be forgiven and will not be noticed at all.

But it all works only when you REALLY have something to give them, really useful for them. Imitation doesn't work at all - people recognize it subtly and instantly.

Good luck!)
