We all know that water is one of the best healing elixirs for any ailment. It helps to flush out toxins from our body and enable it to function. While it is always recommended to drink at least 8-12 glasses of water daily, there is a possibility that excessive water intake can also lead to certain health problems. You heard right! Drinking too much water in a short amount of time can cause hyponatremia or water intoxication, a condition that can be fatal if left unattended.

Various studies indicate that our kidneys can only filter and remove about 20 to 28 liters of water per day. But then they cannot expel more than 0.8 ml to 1.0 L per hour. Thus, to avoid the symptoms of hyponatremia, you need to consume on average no more than 0.8 ml per 1.0 L of water per hour.

The total amount of water consumed per day, which is considered healthy for people of different age groups, looks like this:

With normal functioning of the body, and a correct diet, excess fluid will leave it without any negative effects (not counting the frequency of visits to the bathroom). The disadvantage, however, can make a low-calorie diet and competent training exhausting stomp on the spot! 1.5-2 liters of clean drinking water per day should be enough if there are other drinks that do not contain sugar (mineral water, fruit drinks, isotonic drinks.) Tea, coffee, alcohol, sugar-containing drinks, oblige you to add 2-3 volumes to the water that you consume in contrast to the fact that you drank them on the second list!
In principle, excluding any drinks and replacing them with clean water in equal amounts on top of the standard 1.5 - 2 liters, you get an objectively noticeable improvement in the well-being and work of the whole organism as a whole during 1-2 weeks. An exception is serious disruptions in the work of any of the body systems and the use of drugs that cause an increase in the residence time of fluid in the body. You can limit yourself to a couple of glasses of liquid per day, this is enough for life, but its quality is nevertheless closely related to what and how much we drink. If the process of conception and development of the fetus in their natural forms can proceed without fluids, it will no longer be possible to invent reasons to underestimate the recommended daily water intake, and until then there can be not much water
