In the east, meditation is also called cultivation i.e. cultivation. Cultivation is the basis and the zero stage of meditation.
However, in modern conditions, a different process takes place at the beginning: clearing an already existing spirit, for example, of obsessions.
The process is similar to growing a tree according to your project, if you do not take care of the tree for a long time, do not water or over-care, over-watering may die or grow incorrectly, and there may be a lot of debris and weeds around it, which prevents the growth of a young tree.

The human brain is so arranged that any new situation is stressful for it, which manifests itself in the body in one way or another. At the same time, repetition of something leads to habituation and stabilization of brain activity. As a rule, a person experiences joy and confidence from events / actions that happen to him for the first time. Everything new worries us, introduces us to a state of uncertainty or fear. So meditation is an attempt to bring the body into a state of calmness by repeatedly presenting a situation of stability. For example, the task of mantras / prayers is to repeat familiar sounds / phrases and thereby imitate familiar images that give rise to a feeling of calm and confidence.
