Once, at the age of 8, I was able to see a fragment from one program, where a diabetic boy moves in a wheelchair (at that time I had a clear excess of sugar in my diet). That picture clearly changed the mental perception of sugar addiction in my child's brain :)
Since then I have been extremely careful with sugar: tea does without it, I don't add it anywhere, I also consume chocolate and flour products in moderation.
Sugar detox is now everywhere - people give up sugar individually or undergo special programs.
Several times we saw the calls of the authors of the programs to do sugar detox regularly so as not to fall back into the sugar addiction “needle”. / p>
I read in the comments that even after going through such a detox, the desire to eat sugar does not disappear or soon arises with renewed vigor.
It turns out that all efforts and violence against yourself are in vain? Indeed, for many, this is real violence - they go through the classic symptoms of withdrawal from a narcotic substance.
If not in vain, how long does it take to get free from sugar? And how do you know if your sugar detox is a success? Are there objective signs?
I believe that a breakthrough in sugar addiction can be achieved fairly quickly if you follow some simple rules.
Yes, there will be some time to pull for sweets, even out of habit, but physiologically you will get off the sugar needle, and even more - you will experience very positive sensations.
I have a lot on my blog about sugar addiction.
I got rid of ... by accident.
As a teenager, I could stupidly eat sweets and all kinds of harmfulness. 2 liters of cola? Easy. A large pack of chips, a chocolate bar or two ... It's just a nightmare, but it happens. Then I just began to need less food. The same thing, but in smaller volumes. Sometimes I didn’t eat for a day, calmly endured it.
At the age of 18, for 2 weeks I ended up in Ireland, Dublin. And there ... Just huge portions of food. One was enough for a day. What great burgers there were! A huge piece of meat, vegetables, a gorgeous sauce (I also took it with grilled cheese over meat). It was incredibly tasty. So you overeat and walk all day. Didn't want sweets, including drinks (delicious beer, just good water). My weight was always normal, when I returned home I realized that I had lost weight. Still, walking so much ... At the same time, the craving for sweets did not return. For regular food too, but you can't not eat at all.
In general, here. I realized that there are much more really tasty different foods, including healthy ones, than all sweets in general. Of the drinks, the most delicious cold clean water, tea. This is all so wonderful that sweets are simply not needed. Not needed until now.
And since it comes to that, in the Russian Federation all the same not the same sweets, in Europe I found it tastier. I don't want to go back to plasticine sweets later when I tasted sweet of the level of manna from heaven. :)
Yes, in general, nothing special. I just stopped buying myself bars and cookies. All the taste buds immediately sharpened and the pepper, which I could not stand, became insanely tasty. For motivation you can watch the movie "Sugar". I have been drinking tea without sugar for four months now and do not eat chocolate. Very much even!
For several years in a row I really loved, to put it mildly, to indulge in drinks like "Pepsi", "Coca-Cola", "Dr. Pepper". I drank them often and a lot. One can of this drink contains approximately the daily amount of sugar. And in "Dr. Pepper" sometimes there are drinks with 41 g of sugar in the whole can. This is not just a lot for our body, but wildly harmful. It's called "Roy your own grave!"
At some point I realized that it simply could not continue this way. I stopped drinking soda altogether, limited myself to various sweets, did not put sugar in tea or coffee. And after a certain amount of time (perhaps 21 days later, as Eugenia wrote :)), I didn't even notice that I was using quite a bit of sugar. Do not forget that sugar is also found in common products, right down to sausages and cheese. It's just that it's negligible there. But he is! Therefore, the main thing is to have willpower and almost completely (yes, yes!) Abandon the "white death". :)
A year ago I decided to put on an experiment. There is a theory that in 21 days any habit can be fixed in the human body. During this time, I completely eliminated sugar from my diet, despite the fact that before that I drank tea, only with only three spoons. At first, everything was delicious, I didn't even want to eat without the usual taste. But 21 days later, after completing the experiment, I decided to give myself the freedom to catch up with all the lost opportunities. But surprisingly, after two chocolate cookies, I felt full of rich sweetness. Indeed, for a year now I have not needed such quantities of sweet as before. And tea and coffee without sugar seem to just taste better now.
