A song by Larisa Dolina (https://myzuka.fm/Song/2022777/Larisa-Dolina-Ya-Ne-Umeu-Tantsevat) will help you not to give up and believe in yourself:
I don't know how to dance,
And I'm not afraid to admit that,
But in order not to waste time,
I'm learning to dance.
Secluded from the eyes of strangers
I turn on my tape recorder
And in front of a large mirror
I dance with myself.
And let it not work out yet ,
But I don’t give up so quickly,
I’ll learn for sure ...
I can give the floor, just ask,
What soon I will not be ashamed to invite you
To dance, to dance, to dance,
To dance, to dance, to dance.
We and the reflection together
We can't get into the beat
You are my reflection
You do everything wrong
It is difficult for us to understand each other
There is something wrong with you
So don’t be angry to dance
I go with others
And let it not work out yet,
But I am so I don’t give up quickly,
I will learn for sure ...
I can give my word, just ask,
That soon I will not be ashamed to invite you
But I don't give up so quickly,
To dance , to dance, to dance.
First, of course, not all is lost! Anyone can dance, if there is a desire.
But as in any art, dancing has its own rules. The first and foremost of them (the rest of the rules relate more to the technique of performance and are associated with a specific style), and so, the first and most important rule is to feel the tempo and rhythm of the music, that is, to hear the speed of the music (tempo) and to distinguish musical accents (rhythm). If this is not a problem, you can safely proceed to the actual dance part (otherwise it is better to focus on the music first in order to learn how to hear it).
If everything is in order with the musical part, then just turn on your favorite songs and dance for fun! For a start, you can dance without a mirror, so as not to shackle yourself with your own criticism. The main thing in this "exercise" is to learn how to enjoy your own body, not be afraid to try any combinations that come to mind and learn to feel the space.
And in order to expand the stock of dance movements, you can choose any dance style, open Youtube and find training videos. Or study dance studios in the city and find those that offer the first lessons for free (many do so now) - in a "real" lesson you will better feel the atmosphere of the style and determine what you like best and what you would like to develop.
