Children's cotton swabs are still significantly different from adults. They have special restraints to ensure safety. All goods for children, including cotton swabs, must be of high quality and meet all requirements - made from 100% organic cotton without the use of pesticides, herbicides, defoliants and other chemicals in the growing process, as well as without the use of chlorine and dioxin in the process bleaching.
I'll copy what the search returned in full, as it's all relevant and interesting:
Why can't you clean your ears with cotton swabs?
How did people clean their ears up to ear sticks?
Why do people start coughing when they clean their ears with cotton swabs?
Why does the throat “itch” when cleaning their ears with an ear stick?
Healthy ears are perfectly cleaned without our help. The process of self-cleaning of the ear canals occurs during natural activities - when we chew, talk or cough. This is facilitated by the movement of the temporomandibular joint, which is located next to the anterior wall of the external auditory canal. The auricle needs to be cleaned from the outside, but there is no need to try to get into the ear canal. The external auditory canal consists of two sections: membranous-cartilaginous (closer to the exit) and bony (located deeper, closer to the eardrum). The skin of the membranous-cartilaginous section is self-cleaning due to the numerous sebaceous and sulfur glands, as well as hair. The skin of the external auditory canal is also self-cleaning due to the growth of superficial skin cells. Sulfur is produced only in the membranous-cartilaginous section. It protects the skin of the ear canal from damage and inflammation. As you can see, sulfur is not dirt, so you do not need to carefully clean it. The place of transition of one section to another is narrow (isthmus), therefore, when self-cleaning the ear, sulfur masses are pushed behind the isthmus to the eardrum and sulfur plugs are formed. For prevention, you can do simple procedures 2-3 times a month. Lie on your side and instill in your ears a 3% solution of hydrogen peroxide, 5 drops, or vaseline oil, lie down for 15-20 minutes. After that, clean the external auditory canal with a flagellum made of sterile cotton wool with twisting movements.
In general, no one forbade the use of crab sticks, not ear ones :)
